Looks like I'm back, huh? For the longest time, after Malta (and even before) I thought about writing. I said to myself, "when finals are over, I'll write" and then it was "when I have a good theme or topic, I'll write".. It wasn't until quite recently when I began following (er, stalking) a blog of a girl I went to school with that I shook these hangups. The tag line was something like "making notes on our 'real life' or we'll never remember what the hell we did." As she finishes her 2nd year of law school, prepares to sell her house, and chronicles her pregnancy, I realized we're not so different (no dad, I'm not pregnant).... but:
Within the last 3 weeks I've interviewed for 3 jobs, will be wrapping up finals of my 2nd year of law school, closing on a house, moving in with my boyfriend, purchasing a fur-baby soon thereafter, participating in a judicial externship in criminal court, before ultimately embarking on my third and final year of law school. It was then that it hit me- these are things I'm going to want to remember. Will I be sad if nobody cares about what I'm up to and I have zero followers and comments? no. (okay, maybejustatinybit) But ultimately I realized this is something I want to do for myself, so I don't let all the little, fun, crazy, exciting, and monumental pictures get lost in the big one.
So, sit down and stay a while if you'd like, as M and I prepare to make this:
a home, adopt a fur baby, and if you'd like an inside glimpse inside the madness that is law school, and life as an attorney.Kelly B.
